HOLBORN Institute offers an International Foundation Programme in partnership with QA Higher Education, a UK higher education provider. The programme is designed to enable students to study a programme in Nigeria that builds their subject knowledge and academic English language skills to fully prepare for the study environment and academic culture in the UK.
Upon successfully passing this program, students are guaranteed an offer of a place on one of a range of undergraduate degrees at one of QA Higher Education’s partner universities in the UK. These include:
- Northumbria University
- Solent University
- Ulster University
- University of Roehampton

How will I be taught?
The programme is arranged in to modules and students will study across 2 or 3 semesters, depending upon their English language ability.
Semester 0:
Understanding Texts – academic reading and vocabulary development (0 credits)
Academic Communication – listening and speaking in an academic context (0 credits)
Academic Communication – writing in an academic context (0 credits)
Language in Context (0 credits)
Semester 1 and 2:
Developing and Using Language in an Academic Context (40 credits)
Maximising Academic Potential (20 credits)
Mastering Grammar and Vocabulary (20 credits)
Problem Solving Using Mathematics and Statistics (20 credits)
International Business in Context (20 credits).
Fees & finance
Tuition fees:
- 2 semester: N2,500,000
- 3 semester: N3,000,000
These tuition fees cover the cost of your course and teaching materials. Holborn Institute also has accommodation options for those choosing to board.
Accommodation is N1, 000,000/2 semester session
The accommodation costs cover students’ meals.
At Holborn 6th Form College, students have the privilege to enrol for either the accelerated CIE program (One Year) or the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advance Level (A2) (Two years).
- Accelerated CIE program: Student are expected to register for the full ‘A’ Level Program which is compressed to run for one year.
- Advanced Subsidiary & Advance level: This is a two-year program which is sub-divided into Advanced Subsidiary (1st Year) and Advance Level (2nd Year).
In either case, the student is expected to choose 3 subjects related to their career choice from the underlisted.
