Keosi Akumazi
Hi.
My name is Keosi Akumazi. I joined Holborn institute for the International Foundation programme in January 2020 and graduated in July 2020. I would be progressing to Solent university to study Fashion and Design.
Holborn was equipped with all the required resources from books, library, internet service, and smart boards in the classroom. I was a boarding student and stayed at the school’s hostel. The hostel was conducive and the food was great.
The teachers at Holborn were very loving, kind, nice, and patient with me. Thinking about them makes me smile. They allowed me to express myself and ask as many questions as possible. There were always willing to go over the topics severally until I understood. We were also provided with extra support sessions after school. These sessions were very useful for me in my assignments, research, workshops, and seminars. We were also provided with pastoral care, mentoring and counseling sessions as when needed in other to pull through the programme.
One major thing I acquired during my stay at Holborn was an improvement in my presentation skills, as some of our courses involved several seminars and group discussions.
My advice for incoming students is that they should be humble, hard working and focused. They should also learn to prioritize deliverables in other to meet up with stipulated deadlines.
In a nutshell I totally enjoyed my experience at Holborn and would recommend it to other students.
